Keeping in Touch - October

Hi there!

Our Christmas walk and social will be on 17th December at Bentley Village Hall, near Redditch. Thank you to everyone who answered our questionnaire about the format of this. The result was resoundingly that we have a similar length ofwalk and a simpler meal. So this is what we’ll do! Please put the date in your diaries and watch this space for further details. For anyone who hasn’t been before, the walk on this day will be around 8 or 9 miles and then we all pile into the village hall for a “bring and share” meal. We will be encouraging everyone to stick around to socialise and there will be a few games too. Helen and Colin have kindly agreed to organise the food again, so they will be in touch with you in due course.

Informal weekends 2018 We will shortly be putting together a programme of informal weekends for next year so do think about whether you can put one on for the group. These can be located anywhere with good walking! You might think about whether to team up with someone else to spread the load and make it a joint effort. It’s good to have a campsite available and also the opportunity for members to stay at a B&B. You’ll also need to think about where you might eat in the evening. Please get in touch with Andy to discuss your ideas:

Guests on walks Guests are welcome to come on our Sunday walks. Please make sure they will be fit enough to complete the day and that they have suitable footwear and waterproofs. They must also be aware that they are not covered byour public liability insurance. If they are your guests, it is your responsibility to inform them of this and let the walk leader know you have done so.

Website login Have you logged in yet???? There are many of you who haven’t yet, so do get on board and see what a great job Dave M has done and get up to date with all our latest information. You can also see when there is availability for your next walk and where other upcoming walk locations may be.

If you have led or attended one of our informal weekends away this year, we would love to have a short write-up for the website with a couple of photos. This can be sent through our members’ area very easily. It doesn’t have to be a walk leader that does this, any contributions are welcome! It’s important to keep these coming in to maintain a fresh and up to date look on our website.

Save the date! Our May weekend 2018 will be on 4th-7th May, located at Cilgwyn Manor, Llangadog, South Wales. We’ll get some excellent walking in this area. Look out for a flyer and booking form coming to you soon!

See you out on a walk soon!
