Keeping in Touch - November

Hi there!

May Weekend 2018 We trust you have all received an email inviting you to book onto our May weekend next year at Cilgwyn Manor, Llangadog, Carmarthenshire.

Places are filling fast, so if you’d like to come along, please be advised to get your form and deposit in soon! With hills, moorlands, lakes and river valleys, it’s a fabulous area to walk in.Any queries to Barbara:

Single Boots flyers We have decided to distribute some flyers to boost our membership and if you are able to help with this, they will be available for you to take on our Sunday walks. Do you know of a local community notice board where you could pin a flyer? A local library, sports hall, church notice board, supermarket or corner shop perhaps? Some outdoor shops will also take one.

Torches With the clocks going back, the time has come in the year to add a torch to your day sack. We never plan to get back in the dark, but if there are unforeseen circumstances, it’s advisable to carry one just in case!

New Year’s Eve We’d like to draw your attention to Cliff’s walk on 31st December. After a good leg-stretch on the Malverns, a meal can be booked at The Malvern Hills Hotel up to 3.30pm. If you would like to partcipate please book yourself in mentioning Single Boots and we can be put on one table together. What better way to see the old year out than in the company of your fellow Single Boots members?! For more details, see the December programme summary.

Walks needed! Please think whether you can put a walk on for the following dates:

24th December

21st January

28th January

Waterproofs Now is a good time to review the state of your waterproofs! Do they need a wash? Or re-proofing? It can be very unpleasant to find they’re not up to the job when you’re out and about

See you out on a walk soon!
