September Walks

Sunday 2nd September

Bredon Hill

Easy/Moderate 11 miles

A late summer walk taking in the lovely villages of Great Comberton and Elmley Castle with its historic church. There will be wonderful views from the top of Bredon Hill. At the end of the walk it is a short drive to The Bell in Eckington for refreshments.

Sunday 9th September

Barton, near Bidford-on-Avon

Easy/Moderate 10 miles

A walk through part of the Forest of Arden, pastureland and the pretty villages of Dorsington and Pebworth. Quite a few stiles. Refreshments at Cottage of Content pub at Barton after the walk.

Sunday 16th September

Longley Green/Suckley

Easy 11 miles

A gentle walk through orchards of apple, damson and plum, across fields and pasture to Knightwick, returning to the start point following the Worcestershire Way along the extensive wooded ridge of the Suckley Hills. Just one or two steepish climbs and some stiles. Meet for drinks in the Nelson Inn at the end of the walk.

Sunday 23rd September

Llanbedr, Black Mountains

Strenuous 10 miles (700m ascent)

A lovely lofty walk taking in Table Mountain, Pen Cerrig-calch, Pen Allt-mawr & Pen Twyn Glas. Majority of uphill is at the beginning so we hopefully should get high level views most of the day. 2km stretch of quiet lane walking at the end. Usual hill-walking gear recommended. The Bear in Crickhowell is a cracking place with a great old world ambience to end the day.

Sunday 30th September

Ebrington & Hidcote

Easy/Moderate 9 miles

We peregrinate(!) through the delightful northerly hills of the Cotswolds, starting at Ilmington and passing through picturesque Gloucestershire villages, taking in the edges of the National Trust Hidcote Manor. The walk concludes with drinks at the Ilmington village pub
