Keeping in Touch - October

Hi there!

Informal weekends away Our final weekend away this year was in Sussex. It was a great success and a chance to visit a very different area. Three excellent walks, beautiful weather and some international restaurants – what could be better?! Thank you to Norman for leading this.

Just a reminder to anyone who would like to write something for the website. We’re trying to keep it very up to date with short blogs and some attractive photos. It needn’t be the walk leader, it could be anyone who’s enjoyed themselves on a weekend! This helps to bring in new members. Go to the “Sharing” page of the members’ website and add your file and photos.

Where to go next year? We’ve had a wonderful selection of weekends away to choose from and all were well attended. Some members camped, some stayed in B&Bs or pubs, some rented an apartment. Wherever we stay, wonderful walks in great landscapes are guaranteed. We are very appreciative of any members who organise these weekends as it does mean quite a commitment. But it’s all worthwhile when we get together and enjoy these opportunities knowing that it greatly enhances our years walking calendar. Let’s be thinking of where we can go next year. We have our favourite areas like Snowdonia, the Lake District and South Coast, but maybe you can think of somewhere we haven’t been before that has some good walking? Think about teaming up to spread the planning. If you’d like some advice on what works well, do ask Andy or any other member of the committee. We’ll be asking for ideas before the end of the year, so do get thinking!!
