Pamela Hurle's book "The Malverns" notes the Hanley Castle School to be one of the oldest in the country (circa: 1326). The cul-de-sac also includes the Real Ale society renowned Three Kings Inn and the picturesque Church of St. Mary. A largely flat walk with excellent views of the Malvern Hills, we walk from Hanley Castle to Barnards Green through Hanley Swan and a section of the 7th Century salt road known as Wood Street. We skirt the Worcestershire Golf Course and Three Counties Show Ground on our return.
