Keeping in Touch - February

January 29, 2018

Hi there!

Single Boots Outdoor First Aid Course 17th February As requested at the last AGM, we have organised another day of outdoor first aid training. This is subsidised by the club and comes to you at a bargain cost of £10 a head and will be held on 17th February at the Barnt Green Scout and Guide Centre. Hopefully you’ve all received an email and booking form about this and we very much hope that you will book onto it. Please let Jackie know if you didn’t get the email. jackietyler@blueyonder.co.uk

This is open to all full members and it’s first come first served with a limit of 12 participants on the day. If you’ve been before, no problem, it’s always good to refresh your skills. Get your form in soon!

Walk details It will help Sarah very much if you can make sure your walk details are in as promptly as possible. Please make sure you include all necessary information, so that we don’t need to send out further emails to members. This gives us more to do, and we’re not keen on that!! Don’t forget to check your postcodes and grid references on the www.gridrefencefinder.com website. You will be able to see on the satellite image whether the meet point is correct.

Car sharing We have located an alternative meet point to the one we sometimes used at Notcutts. Please note that there is now a barrier at the entrance, so we will not be using it in the future. The new meet point for journeys going north up the M42 is Brueton Park Car Park, Solihull, (near Junction 5 M42) B91 3HG. We will be using this for the Melbourne walk on February 11th. This is in addition to the regular Bromsgrove meet point.

When sharing lifts, please be ready to contribute to the cost of fuel. We suggest 20p per mile to be shared between all occupants of the car.

Forthcoming weekends away Many thanks to Andy for organising a superb youth hostel weekend in January. 18 of our members enjoyed some great walking and socialising in the Wye Valley.

Our next two weekends are:

March 30th - 2nd April, Betws-y-coed, North Wales

Contact: Dave P 07779 109762

May 4th - 7th Group Weekend near the Brecon Beacons

Contact: Barbara barbaraharland@gmail.com

(a couple of places still available)

Please note that the balance for the May weekend is due by the beginning of February. If you are coming along to this weekend and haven’t already paid this, please send the balance (£35) to Barbara, or make a BACS payment. Details of her address or the club’s bank details are on the booking form.

See you out on a walk soon!
