Who are we?

Single Boots is a friendly and active walking group for single people.

Our Midlands based group has been running successfully for over 20 years and welcomes members from the West Midlands, Warwickshire, Worcestershire and beyond.

What do we do?

We organize a weekly walk each Sunday of usually between 9 & 12 miles ( sometimes longer !) Walks are led by members & vary from 'Easy' flat terrain to 'Strenuous' mountain walks with everything in between.

They explore a wide area of England & Wales accessible from the Midlands.  In Summertime there are some shorter evening walks of 4 or 5 miles often followed by a pub meal or drink.

Car sharing is encouraged with a publicised meet point at Bromsgrove. Occasionally other meet points may be advertised for specific walks. Members will need to make their own arrangements to get to these meet points.

Additionally there are several local Whatsapp groups in use for members to make shared travel arrangements.

The committee also organises an annual weekend away open to full members over the early May Bank Holiday each year. Joint accommodation is arranged for a mixed group of 20 to 30 people. Walks are laid on for 3 days, a wonderful opportunity to get together & explore further afield! These weekends have been in areas such as west Wales, Brecon Beacons, Yorkshire, Exmoor, Whitby, and Morecambe Bay.

In addition to this, members arrange several weekends away to areas such as the Lake District, Snowdonia, Peak District, Yorkshire Dales, Dartmoor and Pembrokeshire. The braver souls in the group camp on those weekends, while others in the group use local B & Bs or Youth Hostels. There are plenty of opportunities to socialise on these weekends.

Single Boots makes charitable donations to organisations with a walking connection when we have sufficient funds

In 2024 donations were made to...

  • Air Ambulance

  • Dartmoor National Park
