Arnside holiday

Written by Deborah

Diana organised a trip to Arnside in Cumbria in September 2023. She has visited family there for many years and knows the area like the back of her hand! 11 of us booked a week in 3 places near each other. Evelyn joined us for the walk on Sunday - she was staying locally nearby.

We had a wonderful time, sharing home-made food (delicious Cumberland sausage from the butcher in Milnthorpe), and taking several great walks, all organised by Diana and all very different:

Walking the coast near Grange-over-Sands

Arnside Tower, the oldest building in the parish, built in the late 14th or early 15th century.

Enjoying the view while having a well-earned break!

Limestone pavement and an amazing view

We did not always do everything together and I went to Sizergh Castle, a nearby National Trust property, as well as visiting Lancaster and Kendal on a couple of rainy days.

All in all it was a fabulous week - thank you Diana for organising such a memorable holiday!
