October Walks

Sunday 1st October Upper Arley Easy 10 miles

Upper Arley village has a lovely location on the River Severn between Bridgnorth and Bewdley and a very nice circular walk is arranged for your enjoyment today with woodlands, meadows and superb Severn Valley views including the steam railway. Let’s hope for a nice sunny day!

Sunday 8th October Carding Mill Valley Moderate/Strenuous 11 miles

If you like walking up big hills with dramatic scenery, then this is a walk not to miss. We walk on the Long Mynd where we have views of all the Shropshire hills and more. We use the paths less travelled; some of these are steep and rough underfoot. It is advisable to check the weather forecast and come prepared.

Sunday 15th October Batsford Easy 10 miles

Experience autumn colours & an Indian summer on this Cotswold walk. We will pass through Batsford & Blockley then join the Heart of England Way to glimpse the exotic Indian house at Sezincote before returning through Bourton-on the-Hill.

Sunday 22nd October Whitchurch/Symonds Yat Moderate/Easy 12 miles

A hillside climb takes us to coffee with views down the Wye valley. We continue down to follow the meandering river Wye along a delightful woodland path walk. We return to the cars through the picturesque village of Symonds Yat West and drive the short distance to the Old Court Hotel for post walk refreshments. If autumn's orange and gold cloak has arrived, packing a camera is advised.

Sunday 29th October Malvern Hills/North Malvern Strenuous 11 miles

Enjoy the fabulous Malvern Hills ridge from North Hill to British Camp, returning through lovely woodland on the lower slopes of the eastern side. Frequent quite steep uphill and downhill sections (so poles recommended) but done at a pace to take in the wonderful views. Meet in the Nags Head at Link Top for a well deserved drink after the walk.
