March Walks

Sunday 4th March

Henley-in-Arden

Easy 10 miles

CANCELLED DUE TO WEATHER CONDITIONS

A walk through the fields and woods to the west of Henley-in-Arden. We walk on the Arden Way towards Bannam's Wood and then follow bridleways and lanes to the pretty little church at Oldberrow for a lunch stop. Returning past Wawensmere we head back to the starting point. Expect some muddy sections.

There's plenty of choice for refreshments in Henley after the walk.

Sunday 11th March

Longborough & Blockley

Moderate 11 miles

A walk packed with variety and interest including the lovely Cotswold villages of Longborough, Blockley and Bourton-on-the-Hill. Our route takes us through the beautiful and remote Hinchwick Valley as well as the Sezincote Estate.

Excellent pub at end of walk.

Sunday 18th March

Skirrid & Bryn Arw

Moderate/Strenuous 13 miles (760m ascent)

CANCELLED DUE TO WEATHER CONDITIONS

This is a lovely walk with two, or maybe three, ascents over the beautiful hills at the south-eastern edge of the Black Mountains. On a clear day, there are great views of the Sugar Loaf, Black Mountains and Usk Valley. This was the walk the leader led for the Crickhowell Walking Festival in 2016 and it is quite a tough walk. Boots and full mountain walking gear (warm hat, gloves, etc.) essential - walking poles recommended.

Sunday 25th March

Upper Arley

Easy/Moderate 9 miles

A beautiful walk based around the riverside village of Arley. The walk takes in nearby Eymore Wood and Hawkbatch Wood, both banks of the River Severn, and Trimpley Reservoir. You’ll also hear, and see, plenty of steam trains on the Severn Valley Railway. We make a steady ascent to our lunch break at Seckley Viewpoint, which offers a spectacular view of the Severn Valley.

We have a choice of pub, ice cream shop, or riverside café for refreshments at the end of the walk.
