May Walks

David

Sunday 13th May

Clifton-on-Teme

Moderate 11 mile

From the village of Clifton we walk down the valley to Lower Sapey, past Paradise and follow the Sapey Brook, working our way back up to Woodmanton Farm where we will see the original moat. We then descend Clifton Hill to cross Ham Bridge, following the River Teme to Shelsley Beauchanp and along the lane to Shelsley Walsh, finishing the walk with a steep incline back up the famous Shelsley hill climb to Clifton.

This walk covers muddy pastureland, wooded areas, ascents, descents and road walking, so please take care. Tea and cake or glass of beer available at the pub at the end of the walk.

Sunday 20th May

North Redditch

Easy 10 miles

The walk takes in the historic Forge Mill Needle Museum and continues through Bordesley Abbey grounds into scenic north Worcestershire countryside. On our return there may be refreshments at the museum.

Sunday 27th

May Hook Norton

Easy 9 miles

Another chance to walk through the rolling countryside of North Oxfordshire if you missed this walk in December. This time spring will be here and the route passes through the villages of Hook Norton, Wigginton & Swerford with views of the distinctive Hooky Brewery, an old railway viaduct, ancient ironstone workings, the remains of a motte & bailey castle and other sites of local interest. Possibly muddy/slippery in places.
